Black Earth, City Roots: The Seeds We Carry, Woven From Nature, Papi Store, I Spoke To A Tomato Plant

The Black Earth Urban Ag Hub presents our inaugural summer community film screening and conversation series: Black Earth, City Roots. This screening is in partnership with Scribe Video Center and Pentridge Station. It will feature several documentaries highlighting urban agriculture in Philadelphia and Black agrarian futures as a whole. They will highlight the diverse legacies of resilience in Philadelphia, while facilitating critical dialogue about its place at the nexus of urban & rural agriculture, bringing to life a vision of a future where food producers and community members alike reclaim their place at the center of their local food system.

Following the movie, a panel will be facilitated by Khaliah D. Pitts, featuring the filmmakers, producers/artists whose work is documented, as well as the West Philly community.
